Karibu rafiki sana!
(Welcome good friend)
Thank you for coming reading my blog!
This year, I had a pleasure of being chosen as one of 20 volunteers from the U.S. and UK to head over to Tanzania to do HIV/AIDS activist work with a program called Support for International Change. SIC (www.sichange.org) is a young and growing non-profit organization with so much potential and I couldn't be more excited to embark on this journey with the coordinators and other amazing volunteers. On Wednesday, September 12, 2007 I head out to Africa and here you can read up on all my adventures (when I get the infrequent chance of getting to an Internet cafe.)
Enjoy and please feel free to leave comments! Asante!

Hey Devon!! Of course as everyone knows, you are amazing for doing this. There is so much responsibility in your hands and I am so excited for you to take it on and do so many good things. A lot of people will be counting on you and I know you will not disappoint. This is only the beginning so look forward to so much more. Keep in touch and updated on your adventures and you'll be back before we know it. Smile for me. GO BRUINS!!
hi devon... i love you and i'm going to miss you a lot :(
boyfriend,
I love you, and I'll be counting the days until I see you again! I guess I'll just have to save my hero with the rest of the world. Sad for me, but AMAZING for the world. Heart you more than you know.
love,
the girlfriend
Ok i meant "share my hero"
and... um. that's fake girlfriend, for people who might see this and be confused.
wow, now i feel like a loser. OH WELL! LOVE YA!
Devon,I'm so excited for you - have an extraordinary time and when you need to fire your soul with energy, think of all the folks back here who absolutely adore you. I'll miss you but I can't wait to hear about your adventures!
So your little poll has a flaw, there should be an option for all of the above (except HAPPY, unless it's happy for him). Oh, and you should translate your swahili so we know what your saying. Otherwise I could totally end a message like this:
Piki, Piki!
and people would think it was a farewell salutation. See?
Anyways, piki piki!!
Love North
